Uploading and linking photos
This article is intended to help you navigate through the gallery and teach you how to create your own ALBUMS and organize your photos. It will also show you how to link a photo that you've uploaded to the gallery into a post

First, click on the GALLERY in the site menu on the left. Then click on "My Albums".

TIP:Think of your OrchidBoard Gallery as a an empty bookcase, which you can fill with albums. You can then fill every album with as many photos as you want.

As a new user, you will have no albums. To make one, click "Create a New Album".

Enter the particulars for the album. In this case, we will make a general album for miscellaneous post photos. Lets call the album suitably "Post Photos". You can create as many albums as you'd like.

Notice on the right hand side of the newly created album an "ACTIONS" category. Select "Upload Photos"

You can upload up to 10 photos at a time. Click on "Browse" to find the photo on your local computer. Select the desired number of photos to be uploaded. Fill in the Title/Description and Keywords and click upload.

NOTE: If you're uploading only one photo, your photo particulars are now done. If you selected several photos to upload, you will be brought to another screen where you can customize the titles/descriptions and keywords for each individual photos. Very intuitive. Also, whatever you enter in this screen will be duplicated for all the screens. ie. You can upload all 10 photos with the same description. In the next screen you can either go with that, or modify the descriptions for each photo.
Be sure to enter titles and descriptions, those will help OrchidBoard with search engine optimization and are greatly appreciated by the administrators.

That's it! You've uploaded your photos !

OK, so you have your photo, now what ??? You probably would like to link your photo to a post in the forum. No problems, this is very simple. You'll notice two sets of code under the photo. Each code links to your photo, but in a slightly different way.
Linked Thumbnail: This will show an expendable thumbnail in the post. BBCode This will show a large photo in the post.

Both ways are fine. You may prefer one way over another. Experiment with both and see which one you like.

Copy the "Linked Thumbnail Code".

In order to showcase your photo, paste the copied code directly into a post. Craft your post however you want, place your photos into your post and you're done.

Once you submit your post, the code that you pasted will be interpreted by the software and a thumbnail link to your photo will show in the post. The linked thumbnail code works in a way that if you click the thumbnail, you will see the larger version of the photo. This is very cool !

Enjoy posting and sharing your photos !
