Default Dendrobium Purple Cluster 'Dark Purple' x Den. Toscana Starburst 'Red Wine'

Dendrobium Purple Cluster 'Dark Purple' x Den. Toscana Starburst 'Red Wine' is blooming nicely with two more spikes on the way. This comes from Fred Clarke breeding at Sunset Valley Orchids.

That is really striking! I have a Den. Tosca 'Shiraz', and I think Tosca must be in the background of your plant. It is so interesting to see how the breeding is changing-and improving- the appearance.

Dang! I can never predict how my pictures are going to post! Very sorry for the upside-down-ness.

I am curious about one of the parent names. The tag says Toscana but I can only find Tosca. Maybe Fred mistyped?

Isurus, that is what I found too, on OrchidRoots. I didn't follow the lines back though.

Quite small. I think its over potted in a 3-4" pot and the plant only stands about 9" above its pot. It's got a fairly tidy growth habit, i.e. straight up and down and growths close to one another.
