Default Dendrobium williamsonii

This one has opened two flowers, two more to go. Not bad for a plant that has 7 canes!! Total height of the plant is less than 8 inches. Flowers are approx. just over 1 inch.

These are sweetly fragrant. And the canes have tiny black hairs covering them, which gives the plant a fuzzy look.

Sue, Jay's says "small sized, warm to cool growing" - does that make it another for your list?!??

I'd love to be able to let mine get as large as the plant IOSPE shows: IOSPE PHOTOS

Thanks for looking everyone! I really like this one - yes, that throat is awesome, and really does glow in real life. Its scented, and the canes are really cool even when its not in flower. What more could you ask?? I'm growing it in a shallow bonsai pot, and it looks great!!

Pretty flower!

Er ... Shakkai, maybe you should show that pic on Jay's site to you den.

Does it require a cold dry dormancy?

Paul, I didn't give as cold a dormant period as some of my other Dens get. But I did reduce watering and withheld fertiliser. I have started to water again (once I clearly saw buds forming), but I won't start again with the fertiliser until I see new growth.

I will definitely print out the pic from Jay's and hang it up within plain site of the plant - maybe it will get the hint???
