Oh, I am so sorry to hear you have to deal with that. My mother in law has it and I know how painful it can be. It makes gardening very difficult. I have started getting osteoarthritis in my hands and it is so hard to grip the pots and clippers sometimes. Especially if my thumbs are really hurting. (and OA is not nearly as painful as RA!) So my thoughts and prayers are with you. At least our orchids are ok with occasional neglect, right? As a matter of fact some plants thrive on it! (keeps us from over-watering, too!)

Many thanks and please extend my best wishes to your Mother in law , my new friend who is also challenged with RA. I always reach out to all who are challenged like me with it. I have been so challenged since 1979 but was not diagnosed until 2 years later. Yes the Orchids can do with the occasional neglect as we really do tend to over-water....lol
Take care of your osteoarthritis though, a friend of mine had it as well as RA but managed to ward off the OA by using Glucosamine Hydrochloride, one caplet twice a day after meals... prescribed by the rheumatologist .
Do have a pleasant day...
