Dendrobium fleckeri - advice on winter care please!
In July, I bought a D fleckeri and was advised by the grower to treat as a D nobile over winter, which I have been doing so far.
However, I've just come across an article that advises higher temperatures during the winter than I give my nobile. It also advises a light monthly fertilising and not allowing to dry out.
I grew this outdoors in Pacifica, CA and it was grown pretty cool. Temps rarely ever exceeded around 70 degrees in summer and usually always went into the high 40s at night during winter. It was kept moist year round since it gets winter rain. It was grown wit some protection of the Speciosums. It has fared well but the leaves were blemished. It blooms reliably. I've never grown nobile dendrobiums. I'm sure your temps are fine since fleckeri is a hard cane type I think it can take a bit more abuse.
