Default Dendrobium mini purple

I purchased this Dendrobium mini purple at the orchid show in Seattle yesterday. It's got one spike and another starting. I really like the way its leaves are outlined in red. It's just a pretty little plant.

I'm trying to look up culture, and a bit confused. Is this a phal-type dendrobium? Which culture does it fall under? How much light and water does it prefer?

Please don't say it's a warm grower. I live in the Pacific NW, so "warm" is not on the menu.

Thank you,
Leslie

Photo does not show. Name does not match with any of the registered hybrids. Any chance is it Den. Mini Purple Queen? (That's the closest name I could come up with)

I just reloaded the photo using Photobucket instead. Is this better?

The tag just says Den. Mini Purple. I don't know about the
"Queen". Thank you for trying to look it up.

Than might be an unregistered "trade name". At any rate, now that the photo shows, it looks like a phalaenopsis-type Dendrobium. Grows on the warm side, needs more light than a Phanlaenopsis but otherwise similar culture. No dry rest period.

Whatever it is, it's sure darned cute. A picture when it blooms would be great.

Default Blooms!

Here are some pictures of the blooms. It now has 2 blooming spikes and 2 new not-yet-open spikes! I really like this little guy! I'm sorry the photos aren't the best. It's either too dark or too bright. The flowers are a very pretty purple, and have been blooming for a good long time. I need to set up a place to take pictures one of these days.

It's a NoID. One of the type that was mass produced and, for a little while, commonly found in BBS in my area. Used to have quite a few of them but down to one now. Easy grower, durable plant.

So "Dendrobium Mini Purple" is just a trade name. Funny. I had one just like it about 20 years ago. It was an easy grower, flowered well. I was hoping to get the same thing. Guess I did.

It's a Dendrobium phalaenopsis type hybrid.

I have one that is blotched white and purple that is in bloom in my bathroom window now. Love it, it's a dwarf phal type.
One thing that surprises me is that on a lead that flowered a few months ago, another spike is emerging from the same terminal bud. I don't remember them doing that?
