Den kingianum, 'Sue' & 'Midnight Velvet'
Several years ago I invested in several clones from SBOE. Two of the best were in bloom simultaneously this weekend.
On the left is var silcockii (= semi alba), 'Sue' AM/AOS.
On the right is 'Midnight Velvet', which is the darkest clone I have.

Nice colouring but for me the joy of kingianum is the fragrance and some clones seem to be more fragrant. Are these?

Such a nice dark color on that one. I have a var. silcockii is mostly dead (slightly alive, not all dead ) but I’m going to try to revive it this year so I can see those pretty little white blooms!

Yes, both are fragrant - but perhaps not quite as fragrant as my 'plain Jane' kingianums.
