Here are some pics of a beautiful Australian Dendrobium kingianum that we purchased at a local flower market here in Zhuhai China. It has an incredibly powerful and beautiful scent!

I cannot speak Chinese at all but my wife told me that the lady said it was an Australian dendrobium and I am guessing a kingianum (it looks like one and the scent is a give-away).

However, I wish I knew the variety name. I doubt if I can ever find that out.

It kind of does but I am not an expert. I just want to say that is a beauty of a plant and blooms. I wish I could smell it.

Definitely kingianum shaped, but lighter in color than most I've seen here. My guess would be some kind of hybrid. Den. Delicatum is a cross of kingianum x speciosum, and it's not too different from that.

Lovely. Most likely a D. delicatum, as fishmom mentioned. May be even a few generation away, back-crossed to D. kinginanum. There are many differently named crosses involving D. speciosum, D. speciosum var hillii and D. sp. curvicaule. There are 9 varieties of D. speciosum in the hybrid register, so confusion is to be expected. AAAAAnd, the resulting hybrids are all very similar. I have a few with no name. I just enjoy them. And I can leave them in the garden until first frost.

And, welcome to the forum. Not many members in China. Wonderful to have you aboard.
