Den. amethystoglossum
My Den amethystoglossum that I purchased over the summer, is starting to put on a show. 5 spikes are beginning to open and there are 4 or 5 more spike nubbins that are getting started now. This is this orchids first time blooming. I won’t complain if I can get 2 rounds of blooms this year

I'm trying to learn how to take some better pics of my orchids so here's a few more.
(p.s. How do you like my 1940's black velvet opera coat turned backdrop? )

Thank you! I don't normally like white flowers all that much but these remind me of egrets and I love the bright purple throat

I saw a lady at Hausermann's using a black briefcase (of some kind) as a backdrop. Whatever gets the job done. They are lovely. And they do look like egrets.

Love the color. How tall is that plant? I would have never known it was a coat.

Tallest bulb is about 19” or so. It’s its first blooming but it did bloom off of some of the shorter canes
