Is it possible to save this dendrobium?

Hi Regelian, it's interesting to read about various experiences, particularly about growing conditions in Europe. I would say that nobile hybrids are the easiest growing orchids here but then my climate is rather different than yours. I live by the sea and it's really mild here (no hot summers and no harsh winters) and VERY humid. My main concern is not to rot my plants so pure bark and clay pots work best. Dens grow outside from March to November and they really thrive. My d.nobile species stayed out until the end of December and flowered beautifully in February. In fact the only keikis I had was on this sad plant from this post, all others had only blooms.

I know OSF appears from time to time in Germany or Netherlands, I will keep hunting to replace mine. I also have 2 dens Meinen Hebammen but they are young plants and I haven't seen their flowers yet (it's a lottery with MH as I don't like all their colours).

The other thing that comes to mind is a pest infestation you haven't noticed.

I thought about that too but I couldn't find anything when inspecting the plant and now it's bare root and I still see nothing. And my orchids grow quite crowded so I assumed that no infestation could be restricted to one plant only so it's unlikely.
Do you think it's worth treating it with some chemicals anyway?

I don't treat unless I know what I'm treating, and I know the chemical is appropriate for the job. I don't like toxic chemicals in my house.
