Default Dendrobium Helix Blue Bayou

Hello everyone,
Just thought id share a post about this Dendrobium Helix Blue Bayou I acquired a few years ago. Each year the plant has faithful shot out a new new growth. This years new growth is now almost twice the size as the previous one! The grower I bought the plant from has one that has canes that are 5 and half feet tall! Now that's a goal!!
The plants not in bloom or anything nor has it bloomed for me yet but I just bought id share a little bit about him since I can't find much information about this plant online.

Wow! Can't wait to see what happens next! 5 feet / 150cm would be amazing!

Doing nicely! For the species up to 3m (10ft) is the largest wild specimens. Of course, they bloom when smaller. You may even get spikes from the current cane this Autumn. Just feed and water well, lots of sun and le voila, flowers. Although the roots do dry in nature, most of the section Spathulata prefer moisture at all times, just no soggy medium. Air movement is a must. I grow mine in big bark with sphagnum and set them in a saucer/pad to water in the warm months. Winters I let them dry a bit more. In Florida they should be right at home. I find they tend to climb, so a basket is the easiest for larger specimens. Of course, they can be mounted into garden trees! Just pick a sunny branch, not too much leaf shade.

It looks like you're doing a great job of growing it. Keep up the good work!
