Thank you for the photos!
How do you grow your friedericksianum? Outdoors all year? What kind of winter temperatures does it get? Do you water it in winter? Does it get rain in winter?

I am from north Taiwan and the plant has been grwon outdoors all year round. The average winter temparature is 15-18'c but when the cold front hits, it would lower to 6-10'c for days. In the cold days, i would water it every 4-5 days. We seldom had rain here in the winter.

Love the D. friedericksianum. Mine has yet to bloom, therefore I don't know the actual colour. I really like the clear yellow. Good to hear they can handle lower temps. I plan to grow mine outside for the Summer and we are warm here in Cologne. Only about 3 months in Winter have below freezing with any regularity.
By the way, which Formosae hybrid is that?
cheers,
Jamie

That's the cross between Frosty Dawn and lowii.

Nice! I would have expected more yellow-cream, but the yellow of D. lowii may be strongly recessive. It has been registered as D. Kedah Frost, but no further hybrids are registered. Pity, it has very good form.
