Den. Spectabile
Don't normally get orchids from big box stores like Lowe's but I was there yesterday and couldn't pass this guy up.
One reason is because I didn't have this little guy in my collection & the other reason being because it has 4 new growths so the plant is obviously healthy/ well off.

Nice but, I got one the same way and it is NOT going to stay little and good luck getting it to bloom....Sorry to be a wet blanket. Maybe your skills are better than mine.

Did the spectabile come with a tag? My bagged den spectabile was H&R shorty x hoosier, and it's topped at 5 inches high for the last dozen or so growths.
The other one from H&R simply mentions 'x sib' and its already at 17 inches...

Yes. I'll take a pic tomorrow. It is huge and robust. If yours is short then it's one of the new hybrids. Mine is a non blooming tank, taking up precious space. Also, the tag on his plant doesn't mention a hybrid.

I've read the older versions sold were large plants that didn't bloom until they got really big. How big is yours?

That's a very robust-looking plant! Nice find.
