It's interesting to see how lush and soft these D. phal hybrids look, compared to the stiff and hard leaves we so often see here. As they get older do people there tend to move them into more light?

These are soft canes den's. Next buy is 30 hard cane den's and again only 4 or 5 different and must be strong growers to be chosen.

Yes these den's are in full sun from 5am to 10am & 60% shade cloth with trees that add more shade for the rest of the day. Its darker green colour is from not enough sun I believe. Compared to my other den's that are in full 50% shade untill 2pm till 6pm then they have full sun and are a lighter colour but not growing so aggressively though.

The den's in full sun with tree shade do the best IMO here. The plants you see will get planted into the garden as soon as the weather cools somewhat. Will shortly have 10 x lattus panels 1.8m x .900mm or 6' x 3'attached to 2 posts 1.8 out of the ground x 100mm x 75 mm or 6' x 4" x 3" next to each cluster of lotus buckets. These clusters of buckets will have timber in a square shape 900mm x 900mm or 3' x 3' surrounding them. The timber is 200mm x 50mm or 8"x 2" and be 2 x 200mm high or 2 x 8" high.

There is 20 plants in the image with 4 different and picked them because they showed stronger growth than other's.

The landscaping begins.....

This Dendrobium speciosum cross I am very excited about.

The var "Carnavon Gorge" is an Australia Protected Plant. So getting it crossed with var "blackdownense" takes away the need to have a Government registered plant.

This plant is a prostrate grower that can cope with very little soil. D. " Carnarvan Gorge" is noted to be seen growing on top of rock. Carnarvan Gorge is an oasis in the Australia Queensland outback. From the hard country! Extremely hardy plant. Had to get a number for our garden. Maybe try to bonsai a couple.

Interesting that it looks a bit like a cattalya.

This is a hard cane Dendrobium that is a Noid. Just trying to plant them outside the norm to see what happens. Really like to try things out before I go for it. So to speak. Totally bullet proof plants hard canes as I know them. Even the hottest or coldest of days just seem to not effect them at all.

Managed to get 2 more different hard cane Den's that showed great signs of a being aggressive/balanced growers.

Finding Dendrobium's that are aggressive balanced/growers makes the timber panel 1.8m x .900mm or 6' x 3' look good. Getting to cover a timber panel is underway. Have a healthy amount of different plants to live with the Den's.

The Den's to be established to live on the timber upright panel 1.8m x .900mm in the top left corner in a group of 5 orchids the same.

Having a group of the same orchid together in a landscape is an exciting area for growing orchids for me. Orchids that will live in the open. Growing them in a beautifully natural way. Spaced out around a landscape. It will be interesting to see what happens.
