There is less than 15% Den nobile ancestry in this hybrid, with even smaller percentages of other species that might contribute to similar strict requirements for winter rest conditions. The predominant species in this are Den moniliforme and Den stricklandianum. They are still cool growers but will be healthy and flower well without the same degree of dry chill.
Den moniliforme x Den strickladianum is Den Ise. There are nearly 60 first, second and third generation progeny of Den Ise. That accounts for the majority of progeny for Den stricklandianum. Den monliforme is in the background of more than half of all Den nobile hybrids, but not always at a high percentage.
So, look for nobile types with Den Ise in the breeding, or a high percentage of Den moniliforme. Those should be less finicky about winter chill.
