I wonder how big these two dendrobiums grow? Will they reach 2 m (6.5') height or even more?

Or will they reach 1 m (3.2') maximum height?

That's like saying how big will this random baby dog grow to be. It depends on if the dog has chihuahua ancestry or great dane ancestry (for instance). Individuals in the wild may vary greatly.

You can't precisely say....plants are even further affected by the environment (like lighting or fertility of the media).
You just have to wait and see.

So it's not predictable like a mini pinscher will stay small on certain average range size, while a great dane wil become huge?

And suppose these orchids grow taller than I expected, can they be pruned to stay short? For example like arachnis made into hedge plants?

If I remember right, superbiens is a natural hybrid between biggibum and discolor. Discolor can be 2m+; biggibum usually a bit smaller. So if size is a huge concern, you might not want the superbiens.
(this is from my head not researching, so doublrcheck me- my memory isn't the best sometimes)
p.s. trimming them won't work; all you'll get is reduced/no flowers and reduced health

I suspect in Indonesia any tropical Dendrobiums will grow to the large end of their range. These tend to bloom from the tops of canes, so pruning is not good for flower production.

There are a lot of D. phalaenopsis hybrids being hybridized with the aim of smaller plants.

Yes, it's natural hybrid of discolor and bigibbum. 2 m+ is too big because I'm looking for 1 m max.

If bigibbum tends to be smaller, I'll get bigibbum instead. And I wonder if Den. phalaenopsis and bigibbum is the same species?

I see. I'll get the smaller Den. phalaenopsis / bigibbum instead.
