Any ideas on what to do with departed Keiki that broke off of my dendrobium tonight?
I understand that it was way too early to be on it's own but is their anything I can do? Should I soak it at least?
Get a take-out food container with a transparent plastic lid that will hold the whole thing horizontally. Put some barely-damp sphagnum moss in the bottom. Lay the piece of Dendrobium cane on the surface and cover it. Put it where there is bright shade but no sun shining onto the plastic. Keep the moss barely damp. The plantlet should keep rooting and begin to grow. When it is a lot bigger, pot it up separately.

I would aim for sphagnum nowhere near as wet. It 's going OK so far, but there is a bigger risk of rot with very wet sphagnum. I would also begin using dilute fertilizer each time when spraying the roots, say 25-50 ppm nitrogen.
