For what it's worth, mine turned out to be spikes/buds! How is yours doing? Any latecomers?

I managed to get it to drop a few leaves. I misted the roots occassionally, gave it it's own grow lite and the coolest room in the house...I think it needs a different home. Be sure to send pictures.

The other option is 40F in the greenhouse. Think it could take that cold? There is just no where bright and cool.

Well, it either goes there or to a new home. Thanks.

40 F is absolutely okay, from experience I can say this species tolerates down to at least 25 F though I wouldn't recommend it. Blooms are cued by a combination of cool and dry, but this and some related species can be rot prone if watered too much while dormant so keeping them on the dry/very dry side tends to be safer. Good luck!

I kept it quite dry, lots of light. The room it's in only gets down in the 60s. Per ES I misted the roots occassionally. I was told by a grower that it really was to small to bloom. Next year it'll go to the greenhouse ( thrown to the wolves). Thanks!

I hate to revive this post, however, we had an unusually warm spell here. At ES's suggestion, I put my pieridii outside. When it got below freezing, I took it to the greenhouse ( my greenhouse is risky). I noticed yesterday that it has little red nubbins on the canes. My question: should I water or wait. Should I bring it into the house?

I would leave it cool and wait.
