Orchid Gallery (amazon marketplace), I'm pretty impressed I have to say.
My windows are probably about at the saturation point, unless I kill something (lol).

How do you refer to them when talking with vendors? I'm wondering if the term Den-phals is tripping them up. Read the first paragraph of this AOS article..
When discussing hybrids without a specific name, the vendor probably wants an idea of genetic background to narrow down from thousands. D. bigibbum is the background species. Or more genericly, ask about the section.
Just my

I usually just go through the websites of Vendors and I find quite a few Dendrobiums but they are nearly always either from the Latouria or nobile groups. It is not as easy to find the ones with Den. bigibbum in the background unless you look at Carmela's website. Some of the beautiful older varieties with the large, flat, Phal-type blossoms seem to have vanished, sadly. It may be that many hobbiests prefer the other types of Dendrobiums and the local florists are now using Phals as they have become cheaper due to the mass production and internet. No idea.

They are wonderful-looking plants!
I have the windows filled up here, too. So many wonderful plants...so little space! :|

I agree, a glance at the flower structure will usually tell you if biggibum is involved. And yes, outside websites in Hawaii, I don't see much if any of them.
I think if this miniature specimen I ordered pans out satisfactorily, I'm gonna wish more hybridists would work with dend phal types.

Yes. I have actually done that. There aren't many of those either.

My Enobi Splash has spiked since I accquired it a few months back..and the spike is about 2 inches at this point, with two other maturing growths in various stages.
I'm excited to see it, though it looks like it will only have two flowers on the spike.

Look at Porter's Orchids. He had a nice selection:
PORTERS
Dend. Kouchi's Pride
"********* Wee Wee
"********* Hawaiian Twinkle
I promised to stop for the year and I just got two from a show.
