Default Den. aphyllum not elongating

My Den. aphyllum canes are not elongating. The canes are less than 4" long and I think they should be more like a foot long by now. It was repotted this Spring in a small wooden basket in sphagnum. I water it every other day and it gets good light, although not full sun. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what might be the problem. AJW may be right but I am noticing the light coloring with the reddish tint on the growing ends.
That doesn't look normal and might be indicative of something.
Then, there is the possibility that it might just be a sport.
I have run into that with a Den. nobile whose flowers looked nothing like a D. nobile.
I had it I.D.'d to confirm it.
As long as it continues to grow with no major signs of distress, wait and see how it blooms out.
