Dendrobium atroviolaceum Male
Default Dendrobium atroviolaceum

One of the my most recent acquisition. Came already with lots of buds so I cannot take credit. hehe

One thing that surprised me was the fragrance. Strangely, it smells like vanilla chocolate(!). I've read that some atroviolaceas are fragrant while some others are not, so guess I am lucky.

PS: My Den. rhodostictum, which I grew for a year and half, finally sent out its flower spike. Yay. I love these latouria dens

Very Nice looking plant. These beauties are from Papa New Guinea. I have found crosses made with these Dendrobiums tend to provide a flower which I have had last up to 5 months plus. Need to maintain watering around the principle of little and often.
