Arizona gardeners don't grow many orchids outside during the summer. I'm going to try and expand the knowledge, but it's not going to be Masdevallia, Pleurothallis, Phalaenopsis, nor Cattleya.

Have you considered getting something like a Rubbermaid stock tank for your growing area, and putting collected rain in there? You could water your orchids with it.

thanks for the info, optimist! I'm impressed you have any masdevallias at all... I'm curious which ones. pretty much if any plants you grow do well for you, that means I can certainly give them a try outside here!

How do you keep it up to 50%? you ever use a swamp cooler?

The fact that you folks in NM and AZ grow orchids at all where you're at, is impressive. I'd be growing those silly subspecies of subspecies type miniature succulents or something... and probably get bored from the lack of involvement...

I just picked up one this weekend from Hausermans. In bud. I know nothing about culture, off to learn how to grow and thrive this one!

Tips are welcome.

Cute little plant, I got one a year ago that bloomed shortly after I acquired it. Hopefully I can get it to bloom again
