I bought this dendrobium peguanum last weekend, and I just wanted to get some opinions on wether it was healthy or not. Two of the leaves have gone yellow and are about to drop, and another two leaves look like they are going yellow too. I read that this species is meant to drop its leaves around Autumn/winter, and Autumn just started here in Australia (however it's still 86+ degrees F every day where I am).
Mostly is this how the leaves normally fall off it and it also have black dots along the boarders of a few of the leaves, which made me wonder if the leaves are falling off because it's sick or just natural falling off.
It also has some new growths coming up too, I thought the leaves would fall off after those new growths had matured.
Gosh, mine is an embryo in comparison.Bought it bareroot and placed it on cork with s/m.Info tells me to start watering now as we're coming out of winter and it's somewhat under T5s. But I also could use more input for care.
I looked it up in OrchidWiz. Many of the photos with blooms are on pretty leafless plants or with yellow leaves on it. if it is the oldest growths that are losing leaves, I wouldn't be too concerned so long as roots and media are good. OW says bloom begins soon after leaf drop in winter. It needs a bit of a dryer time in winter after growths have matured in the fall. allow to dry out but not remain dry.

Okay thank you for that information! I can see a fair few healthy green root tips near the top of the media and a couple new growths, so I'll assume it's healthy thank you!
