For instance, has anyone had a den lamyaiae (related to unicum) that literally has stayed leafless and no new growth for almost a year?!!
Do you have a picture of these Dens? I grow lots of seasonal Dens (nobile, aggregatum, chrysotoxum) very successfully outside yearround.

I wanted to join in the reindeer games so here's a pic of my Dendrobium which recently bloomed...

I have some den questions, too. I spend about half of each year in Costa Rica in a seasonally dry area at 1000meters (3000'). I have bought a number of nobile type den NoIDs which are inexpensive, beautiful and grow new canes easily. The trouble is that after they lose the original flowers (several months) they never flower again. I'm sure they are not grown in Costa Rica. The temperature range where I live is from about 59-90F (16-35C) and the coolest part of the year is the rainy season. Any ideas? They are so pretty in flower that I don't want to give up on them. They are inexpensive enough to treat like long-lived cut flowers but committing orchidicide is hard for me.
