Dendrobium Nobile Frosty Dawn, What is going on with this plant, Pics included
I received a Frosty Dawn as a gift last May and I haven't done much with the plant since then. I don't know much about these orchids and I need some help trying to figure out what I need to do with this plant this year to have it in shape to possibly rebloom next season I think I have a keiki at the base of the plant and I noticed a bud on the old cane. I have taken pictures of what the plant looks like now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Welcome to the Orchid Board, honeebeed!
Frosty Dawn isn't a nobile type of Dendrobium. It's a Formosae type hybrid, also known as a Nigrohirsute type hybrid (the older name), because of the black hairs all over it. Formosae Dens require different care from nobile Dens.
Formosae Dendrobiums prefers even warmth, fertilizing and humidity all year round. Other people here report they can bloom multiple times per year.
I haven't grown this particular hybrid so I can't tell whether the green nubs at the base of your plant are flowers forming or new growths. In any event your plants looks to be healthy. If you water and fertilize it regularly you should get flowers.

I would say the small growth is a new cane not a keiki. Keep all your canes together, don't cut them off or anything. The plant looks good, you should have a bloom in the future if all goes well with that bud. Just keep doing what you have been doing, good job!

I have one of these and I struggled with it at first bc I didn't know what it wanted. I eventually learned that is likes consistent watering and fertilizing and bright light. I have mine in small bark in a south facing window, I soak it once a week, and it's thriving now when it blooms, the blooms last forever. I also noticed that right after the flowers faded, another older came has another bud coming, which unfortunately, at least for me, takes forever.

Thank you! I have heard multiple things in regards to the black hairs on the plant so it is nice to have a clear answer. I have a decent humidity in my plant growing area. I have kept it in a southern facing window so I will keep it there and resume fertilizing. I really like this plant so hopefully she will bloom again.

Thank you for the help. She also smells so good! I am normally an oncidium girl but this orchid was a treat.
