A seedling blooming for me for the first time also. Really nice. Surprisingly fragrant with wonderful scent. I'm must take better care of it this Summer. It's in a 4" pot. It should get much bigger, right? I read these like to be dry. Is that correct?
Congrats on blooming it. Its lovely.
I don't grow this but am looking after one right now for a friend who is away. It has 3 spikes and will soon be in bloom. Hers is in about a 5 inch pot and sprawled quite wide beyond the pot on many growths. Orchid Wiz says this gets quite a bit of moisture from spring to fall but must have a fast draining media and a container that is quite small for the size of plant. It needs a dry winter rest in order to harden off the canes and induce blooming. Not sure what my friend actually did to get 3 spikes on hers, but it will be a nice show!
Thanks for the info Silken. It fall into the Calista Dendrobium group and that's generally how I have been treating it. I can't wait to see pictures of your plant in bloom. I think you'll love the fragrance.
