Macrophyllum is one of the most widespread Latourea dendrobium in Indonesia. Its range includes island of Java, Sumatra, Bali, Sulawesi, Papua and Moluccas.
Every island, even localities has a distinct type of the species. They still have that macrophyllum looks but often they differ in color, flower size, markings, and plant size.
Javan type has the largest flower and plant and green in color, while the Moluccan type has smaller flower and plant and yellow in color. Furthermore, the Mollucans are more heat tolerant than the others
