Hey everyone, I've had this one for awhile and it's... surviving but not doing well. It puts forth new growths, but they always wind up shrivelled and leaves ocassionally drop off of it.

It's currently potted in bark, about medium size, located directly under my growing light beside some paphs *which are doing well*.

I originally had it potted solely in sphagnum moss but repotted because the roots kept on dying so I felt it needed more drainage. PLanning to put some moss in there with the bark tonight.

Thoughts?

If it seem that the problems are from it being too dry, you could water more often. I like to use bamboo skewers to help determine when to water Using skewers to determine when to water.

Has any new growth ever made it to a full size or is this happening every time the plant initiate the new growth?
I think it sounds like something is wrong with the plant itself.

Even with severe underwatering, these plants will still grow the new cane. It will just mature very small and not as plump, and leaves might be all crinkly depending on how severe the drought was. lol

All sphag might work, but I would recommend against it. Plus, try and keep this plant warm year around for best results.

but the habit you described sounds like it is the plant, not you.
