Default Dendrobium Ise 'colorful' x Angel Baby 'Newberry'

I got some orchids from Carter and Holmes around Oct 2nd.

Around Oct 10 the dendrobiums leaves turned yellow ( thought I was killing it!) and I noticed a bump on the cane. I disinfected some scissors and cut the leaves off and then treated with physan 20 to be sure.

Oct 20th the bump was still present and all the yellow leaves were gone. First picture.

Nov 5th the bump had formed into a bud.

Nov 10th the bud had started getting color in it.

Nov 15th the bud is now showing significant coloration.

And Nov 19th it opened during the night.

I didn't expect this to happen as this is a very young plant, I'm glad that I was able to maintain a good environment for it to bloom and not bud blast!

That's great! Mine is just now starting to make a new vegetative growth at the base of the most recent pseudobulb, so I'm still watering it.

I bought the same variety from C&H at about the same time. My Den. did the same thing as yours and produced 3 bumps; they have not opened up yet. Was not too worried when it started dropping leaves as there were 4 other canes with no leaves on them so I thought it best to watch and wait. Looking forward to what is produced!
