Dendrobium Frosty Dawn 'Wings of Gold'
As soon as nighttime temps stayed above 50, my orchids went outside. While it was outside on my balcony in full morning sun, it started to bud and just now bloomed. It is potted in small bark and I soak it only once a week. It took quite a while for the buds to develop and finally open. The blooms open up a light green color and the lips turns to a striking orange color and the petals turn a lighter creamy white tinged with green stripes after a few days. I have not detected a fragrance yet. I hope to detect one as this orchid is supposed to be fragrant.

It is a pretty flower!
Hopefully, the fragrance just isn't being released yet.

This is a beauty! And I really hope the fragrance comes soon.
However, I'm not sure it is truly a 'Wings of Gold'. I have one too, and when I was researching it, I found this post.

Apparently there is some mislabeling going on. It's also possible that with more light and heat, the orange blush on the petals will develop. Even if this is a 'regular' Frosty Dawn, it truly is a gorgeous flower.

Thank you everyone. Leafmite, I really hope the fragrance pops up soon Turock you are right! O that's a disappointment I still love the bloom though, I also hope the orange intensifies.

Thank you Rosie, whiteRabbit and annak. The smell never did come through but I really like the color on these flowers. It's will be with me as long as I can keep it alive 😜
