Tell me, please, which type covers the latouria section? I refer specifically to Den. aberrans. I think I've lost mine and don't know where I went wrong. Ross, I think you've posted pictures of yours. Thanks for any help.

Shirley this is from Lavarack, Harris & Stocker:

A pot of any standard well-drained medium is suitable. The plants do best in intermediate to cool conditions, in semi-shade, and should not be allowed to dry out completely. Slabs are equally suitable provided the plants are kept moist.

Hope this helps. The Latouria section are persistant leaved, no winter rest, and most with a few exceptions like to be grown intermediate to warm.

I think the classification of Dendrobium missed a lot of the australian species (from what I've read).
D. kingianum is ok with a wide range of temp. (intermediate to warm), in summer it can take full sun and tons of water. No water in winter for couple of months and full light even sun) and cold temp (low 40s) are recommended to induce flowering.

I have mine in S/H and it is loving it !

Thanks for the reply S KALLIMA, much appreciated, was starting to think no one knew. So as cold as 40 and no water for a couple months? I will have to try and lessen the amount of water I am giving. I had stopped watering it, but it just seems so dry, I feel a little bad not giving her water, but I will stop and hope for the best! Does a bit of misting affect this Dry requirement, I have not been misting it directly, but it tends to get a little bit of overspray when I am spraying the rest of the plants. Should I be moving it well out of the way of any errant water spray?

Kinknstein, when I wrote no water, I meant very little, but you should give a bit of water if the canes from this year start shriveling. And a little spray from time to time does not hurt.
As for the temperatures, around 50 seem to be ok too..
