I would check with one of the experts on the board that has Orchidwiz (or buy a copy). It has the parantage of lots of 'chids. Pretty much impossible to cover 100% because, for one, not every cross is registered. It's a good beginning. Just watch the condition of the bare pseudobulbs. If they signs of shrivelling a bit of water wouldn't hurt

You can also use the Royal Horticultural Society website and search by grex name. It's a bit more tedious because you then have to do searches on the parents.

Royal Horticultural Society - Plants: Orchids

The parentage on your plant is

Den. Midas Gold x Den. Santana Yamamoto

In order to place this plant by "type" you'd have to take the parents back till you get to the original species (at least I think that's how it works.) Someone correct me if I am wrong here.

LOL Ross that's why it's so tedious tracing through RHS.

Wow, this may not be so easy. But thanks for the education. As said earlier I will give it until April. I will try to update this thread and let you know how it went. In the meantime if anyone has experience with this orchid, all blooming hints are welcome.
