Default Dendrobium lamyaiae in Bud

I just tied up the budded cane so that I can better appreciate the flowers.
Last year, I never got to do this and the flowers were all against the side of the pot.

I will post again when the buds turn bright orange.

sort of like little hot peppers, except these are a bit too skinny to be those peppers. lol

Wait until these turn orange.

Default Late Update.

I am finally uploading some pictures of open bloom.
It is the third time blooming for me and it is the best so far.
I believe it'll only get better.
can't imagine I almost threw this away.
well worth keeping it.

The last picture is when I bought this plant three years ago. Who knew?!

Enjoy~

Wow, that's orange. Are you growing them on mounts sitting in cups with water touching the bottom of the mounts?

Being an indoor grower, I hate mounted orchids, but this one came mounted and I could not take it off without damaging the roots completely.

So I have the whole thing in a 4.5 in clear plastic pot with a saucer to catch water.
I have some moss wrapped around the roots to prevent from drying too soon too much.
No, there is not water at the bottom of the mount.
I just mist daily and water about once or twice a week.

My original plan was to grow enough roots into the moss in a couple of years and take the plant off the mount and pot it up, but the thing does not make that many roots, and all the roots are still firmly attached to the mount.
Oh, well...Luckily the whole plant is tiny and I think I can keep it like this for a few years before having to make any change.
