No, there is not water at the bottom of the mount.
I just mist daily and water about once or twice a week....
Thanks! I have a D. unicum that came on a mount like your D. lamyaiae. It's hanging near a window but I'm spraying and watering it like you do. It seems to be doing OK.

Amazing flowering! About how long do the flowers last?
It looks a lot like unicum. Do they have a similar growth habit?

Yes, they both have basically same plant appearance and same flower color, similar flowers.
I do not grow unicum, but I read that unicum needs colder winter to flower well.
I do not have first hand experience so can't confirm.

This species I keep by the window year around. During the winter, it gets down to about 65 to 60 at most. Not that cold.

The leaves do fall off in late fall and new growth sprouts in the spring. Pretty much like other deciduous dendrobiums.
Flowers last about two months.
