Dendrobium Jan Orinstein 'Red and White'

This plant won a trophy this past weekend (May 2-3, 2015) as the best dendrobium at the Manoa Orchid Show in Honolulu. The flowers with their violet colored petals and sepals and white lips are very eye catching. I received this plant as a small seedling in a 2-inch pot 4-5 years ago from Mr. Fuji of Fuji Orchid Nursery in Okayama, Japan. Den. Jan Orinstein is a primary hybrid between Den. aphyllum and Den. primulinum. The plant is growing in a 4-inch plastic basket with New Zealand Sphagnum Moss as the media. The plant is kept damp (watered every day) under 50% shade.
