I finally got pics of my buds. They are on 3 of the psb and there is still 2 that have nothing coming out....yet. Hows that for wishful thinking, but yes I am still hoping. How about the rest of you any re-bloom?

No blooms but lots of leaves. I had a little bout of red mites, so I had no media in the plant for a couple weeks. I put a damp paper towel around the roots as media, it made it easier to re-treat the mites. Now I have it repotted in live moss.

Yours looks really good. I only have one leaf. I am hoping the fungus is over I finally got a fan for the room its in. I will also say that after I had the 2 blooms coming out of the psbs I very carefully pulled the dry stuff off the tops as I was wondering if it was stopping the blooms. One of them started growing but the other 2 still have not. My humidity is so low most of the time and the dry leaf matter was so hard so that is why I did that.

Mine is still maturing 3 growths. This is by far the slowest Dendrobium I've grown. My deciduous types' new growth elongates more in a day than this has in 4 months.

Yes, but once it blooms it will be worth it. The blooms last for months and months. I wonder if I should take the dry stuff off my bulbs.

On No-Pro-mwa's plant it almost looks like new bulbs and leaves are forming off the old ones. Lot's of new growth! I am not sure where the flowers come out anymore. I thought it was next to the leaves.

Mine flowered from near the tops of the pseudobulbs, and the new growth came from the base.

Imagine the short pseudobulbs elongated into canes, the way a lot of other Dens grow. Flower spikes usually come from the upper portions of the pseudobulbs on other Dens. In the case of these compressed pseudobulbs it will be harder to see exactly which leaf scar is producing the inflorescence.

I looked it up again on IOSPE. It is a member of subgenus Calyptrochilus (hooded lip.) The only other species in this subgenus I recall seeing discussed here are cuthbertsonii, which makes everybody want to convert their refrigerator to grow it, and capituliflorum, which seems to be not too uncommon nor hard to grow.

I'm growing cuthbertsonii now and I think I have the key in my environment. I keep it next to my cool masdies on the bottom shelf. I have a small amount s.moss around the plant and then it sits in s/h beads in a plastic small pot. I just mist the beads daily and it spreads moisture to the s. moss. That way it does not get too wet but still is moist. It is also in a more shaded area.

Well I took the extra dry husk off my den laev, so we shall see what happens.
