Aussie Dendrobium (Aussie Parade 'Carrot Splash' x Jannine Banks 'SVO')
Here is an example of why I buy more than one of almost everything. Fred Clarke (Sunset Valley Orchids) released a bunch of Aussie Dendrobium hybrids in late 2013. I bought two (or more) of several of them.
This cross consists of:
53.1% Den tetragonum
23.4% Den kingianum
10.9% Den falcorostrum
6.3% Den speciosum
If we look at the two different clones, the first one to bloom is heavily influenced by Den tetragonom, both in shape and color pattern.
The second to bloom is actually heavily influenced by Den speciosum in terms of shape and spacing (flowers are very bunched on the spike). While it has few markings on petals & sepals, it has a GORGEOUS dark colored lip.
Now, which one would I have missed, if I only bought one?

They are still small plants, blooming on 4-6" canes. I suspect that they will end up with mature canes in 8-12" range.

Both are similar and I like them both, but I like the second one better.
Do these need cold winter like kingianum?
I always wanted to try these but I just don't have cool enough winter at my apartment.
What's your greenhouse min during the winter?

We have thermostat set at 55F. We keep the Aussie Dendrobiums in the opposite corner from the heater, so it probably gets a little cooler there. And, we keep them very dry from mid Oct through Feb or so.
