A big THANK YOU to everyone who said the yellowing was simply old growths fading away. After thinking more about it, the leaves that were yellowing were appearing on really old, small, shrilled, pseudobulbs, possibly the first growths on the plant. So yes, the answer is quite clear. I believe 'daddydoall' was first to recognize this.
