Dendrobium kingianum exploding with blooms
Cool to warm growing lithophyte from Queensland and New South Wales Australia
One of my outside orchids - I've had this one for six years. The last few years, it has put on quite the display. I haven't attempted to count the spikes, but last year, I counted them as I cut them off after blooming - there were 75!
Watered and fertilized year-round, tho watered less frequently in winter due to lower temps. Likes a fair amount of sun while growing, but mine has been fine with little sun in winter.
Thanks for looking

Wow! I was looking forward to seeing this in bloom again. Mine doesn't put on this kind of show!

Wow, stunning. Yours looks pretty compact compared to other, "messy" looking kingianums I've seen.

Very nice!
I had one but, apparently, it was not as cold hardy as I thought it would be. It turned to mush with temps in the upper 30'F's. I think I will just enjoy the pictures of yours and everyone else's.

Thanks everyone
Leafmite - hmm... mine has been very tolerant of short periods down to freezing. I do keep my outside orchids sheltered during frost - freeze periods, as well as wet, cold weather ... I'm sorry yours didn't do well
