Need Dendrob. advice -
Hello everyone!
I have been nursing this plaque of Dendrobium lodgesii that is a part of a collection I am working with. It has been pretty neglected for quite some time. It was left on the plaque for several years, with inconsistent watering and fertilizing, with no sphagnum left on the mount, just dead plants and roots. I haven't had that much experience with this particular species and need a little guidance.
My question is, now that it is really starting to emerge from it's winter rest, should I try to separate and re-mount the plant, or wait until the canes are more mature? I doubt that it will bloom this year as it did not get the cool, dry winter rest period they need, but I would rather save the remaining plants, rather than worry about blooms at this point.
So - remount now, or late until later? It has tons of little kieki's forming and I have been hitting it pretty regular with bright light, weak fertilizer and high humidity.
Thanks for any input!
