Surprise kingianum
I recieved this keiki in the fall of 2013. I'm surprised it bloomed since I didn't give it a cooling off nor a rest thinking it was too small to do much but grow.
Color is more the second pic.

Does yours have a scent? I've been waiting two years for my kingianum to bloom again. I've had two baby spikes that both blasted.

It does have a scent. Between my allergies and two allergy meds, darned if I know what it smells like.

Awesome!
For the record, I don't give mine a rest - but do grow it outside, so it definitely gets cool temps.
I'm so happy this bloomed for you!

Plants are just full of surprises, aren't they? Congratulations on the bloom! It's such an adorable little Kingianum, and looks quite happy. Great job.

Interesting. I've got a little one about this size with very swollen nodes and I've been wondering if its too small to bloom.

This makes me want to try with another one. I tried to give mine a cool winter rest this year and I'm about 80% sure I killed it.
