Default Is it possible to distinguish Dendrobium Kingianum from Dendrobium Berry "Oda"?

Hey everyone!

That's my question- simple enough. Is there a truly distinguishing feature that will help me tell which orchid I have? I can't tell. I google images of the two and they're so so similar... and google images isn't always a great resource for exact plant IDs, either. Grr...

My tag said speciosum x kingianum, but I got it at a big box store, so god only knows if that's correct.

However, I know that den kingianums can be a bit stubborn to rebloom, while the berry odas are a little more easy to rebloom - or so I've heard.

I'll just do my best either way, but I am hoping to get a definitive answer.

Just wondering what you guys can say on this topic! Thanks!

The flowers of Berry are quite a different shape to kingianum. The lateral petals of Berry tend to be lot larger and more spatulate than you get with true kingianum which gives them a strongly pentagonal appearance rather than the more triangular shape of kingianum. There are other more subtle differences like the labellum shape, the colours and the spike habit which are harder to describe but just give the Berry's an "un-kingianum' appearance.

That being said, if the tag says speciosum x kingianum what makes you think it's pure kingianum?
