Dendrobium faciferum Male
Default Dendrobium faciferum

Dendrobium faciferum - one of my most favorite Dendrobium species, and I am very thankful my plant keeps growing very small, in comparison to other I've seen. Grown outside, bright light - direct sun year round! Giving it light winter rest not watering and fertilizing from December till buds show up.

I think you definitely can, our weather changed drastically in past 5 years with most severe past two winters, this winter cold fronts started in November (unheard before), and we had fluctuations in temps ever since, usual winter days in 70's, winter nights low 60's, with days close or over 80 and nights as cold as upper 40's. Most of this winter nights were only in upper 50's or even low 50's, and this baby does love it! As far as it won't go under 50F for extended time (weeks), than you should be fine. Summer is really hot, over 100 in hottest months.

Thanks Tommy,
Most winter nights in central LA stay above 50. (Usually 50-55). A few nights can go as low as mid 40s, but day time highs usually in the upper 60s and low 70s. I am definitely going to give this one a try.

Thanks
Andrew

Than you have it more than perfect! I wish we would be this stable here, our temps are crazy, we had just a few weeks ago mornings of 38F with real feel of only 28F and in two days day temps in high 80's!
