Proud Appeal 'Ace' (has some Latouria parentage) that started a growth from below the two topmost leaves and I was sure it was a keiki, but it turned out to be a flower spike instead. I figured it was just a freak thing, but now I guess it was normal. Amazing!

I don't know if they all do - my Aussie's (or Micro) Chip blooms only at the top, but most canes only have two leaves.

I would guess there's a point after which canes would no longer bloom, but I don't know what that is ...

I have a Dendrobium Roy Tokunaga and have found it to be a very robust plant.
I gained Show Champion in September last year and first in the dendrobium section in January the flowers are just starting to fall now. I am finding Dendrobiums as is this one from Papa New Guinea have long lasting blooms

I have a young (not quite flowering size) plant as well. I enjoyed looking at your blooms and hearing what other people say (as I dream of maybe next year with flowers of my own).

Loving this Den so much! Blooms still holding well after 3 weeks..and I spy a new cane forming woohoo!
