Yes, NYC- that's how I got into this whole orchid thing in the first place, to help get through the winter blahs. We are lucky so far this year, very mild, esp compared to your part of the country!!

It's really hard to know which kind you have with dendrobium without bloom. But if your den has a flower spike it's not needing rest time and if the flower appears from the cane itself it's needs rest time. Except rare species.

The flower I posted has withered now, but the other flowers on the cane have opened. I will try to get a good pic soon and share it.
