Dendrobium laevifolium

There isn't a lot out there about dendrobium laevifolium and a 'winter's rest'. From what I have read there are some that go completely dormant but others never completely dormant. Mine was growing like crazy, then this month dropped a few leaves but still has a couple hanging in there. Not sure what is next. When I got the plant it was in bloom in Oct. and kept a bloom on for 6 months. Bulbs and roots look great. But I get scared when plants loose leaves, even when they are deciduous.

Thanks for all the advice. I also just bought the same Den. and don't really know how to care for it. The info on the light is timely as I had mine in a south window. (Changing that right away )

There is such conflicting information out there about the light needs. Watch your plant and see how it does. I don't think they need much fertilizer either, but I have been using well water. I keep the roots covered in the spag moss, but I make sure it doesn't get up the sides of the bulbs. Some articles say use rain or distilled water. I know people have been buying this plant lately, they are great little plants.

Yes I just ordered this plant. I sure do hope I don't kill it.

The main thing is they like to stay moist, that is the only thing the grower told me when I bought it. Some do go dormant, so if you think it died it might just be resting We have this thread to help each other. I just love the cute little flowers and the fine stripes on the pseudobulbs.
