Default Dendrobium speciosum

I have had this orchid since 2009 and is the first time it has bloomed for me. The person who gave me this did not know the species and so in asking around the feeling was that it was a Schomburgkia and so for all this time I cared for it as a Schomburgkia. At the Ft. Lauderdale Orchid Festival several weeks ago I saw this orchid which had won an award and knew then and there that my orchid was a Dendrobium speciosum, I guess the way I cared for this orchid did not make a difference from what it turned out to be. Enjoy!

when I read the title, I thought this would be a modest flowering as you said it is the first in many years. looks like you are doing something right because wow, it has given you a spectacular show!

I agree with all of you, in fact I am very glad it is not a Schomburgkia!
