Like so many others, I have one of these little beauties also. Got it this past September from Hauserman's in great shape, with three new leads growing. Much to my surprise, two of the older canes started to spike in late November. I had no idea the plant was near blooming size when I got it.

The first spike has three flowers that started to open on New Year's Day - hope thats an auspicious portent for 2015! The second spike has 4 flowers, and they just started to open a few days ago. Amazing how the color of the flower changes as it ages: mine start off with more white, and then gradually turn more cream-colored. The flowers have a delicious, light sweet fragrance that appears around 10:00am and is gone by 2:00pm.

Super easy grower so far, didn't skip a beat even after repotting.

Who can get enough of these? Love it!
I am so glad that I bought one. I was just ordering Aerangis citrata when I saw it and thought...why not? Now that mine is in bud, I am really excited.
I think I want to get Dendrobium abberans and Dendrobium normanbyense, now.

Lol, I hear ya! I bought an aberrans a month ago from Al's Orchid greenhouse, which is about a half hour away from me. Going to order a normanbyense in the spring from H&R. C'mon Spring!

I have a Den. Proud Appeal 'Ace' which has some Latouria parentage in it, and that is an easy grower with gorgeous flowers that last two months at least.

I just love Al's Orchid Greenhouse! I stopped there once when we were visiting family in the Fairfax area and have ordered some great orchids from him online, too.
I plan to wait until spring, too, to do another order. We just had freezing rain and will likely get more, then some snow. I just want all the snow to melt so that I can see some green grass, just for a few days.

We love going to Al's on Sunday mornings, especially in the winter, and just enjoy the warm, moist air inside that wonderful greenhouse. I don't usually walk out with a plant, but when I do they are usually real beauties.

I must also wait for the weather to change. Can't ship orchids now, we have been having 0 degree temps with wind chills -20. Doesn't look good for a while

We are getting snow right now, lots and lots of snow. The forecast doesn't show better weather at any time soon.

I can imagine Al's as being a perfect place to visit. It looked like a jungle when we were there. He treats all the plants as if they are his until he sells them, too.
