Dendrobium moniliforme 'Tama'
Dendrobium moniliforme 'Tama' - My plant is still considerably in "miniature" size, which I love. Species from Korea, China and Taiwan, I do grow this one inside under the lights year round. Didn't know it should have drier winter rest (hard to manage inside) so there is so far only one bud and the rest are keikis. Love the tiny bit of light pink color inside the lip.

The two-tone leaves are quite remarkable too.The throat seems keel-like. So much to admire on such a little thing...isn't nature grand!

Very nice little plant. Looks as if it is about five inches tall and with nice plump bulbs. I have one on a stick as a bonus plant from Andy's Orchids that is a larger variety; about eight inches in height. It has currently dropped it's leaves and produced ten buds on each of the two blooming canes that usually just remain in a semi-dormant stage until spring, at which time it blooms sporadically. The canes are much more slender also than on your plant.

Tommy, the picture is poor but will give you the idea. The tag said Japanese variety. I measured the longest cane and it read 10". From what I recently read about this plant, it has a large variety of forms and also a wide range of growth. It would be my guess that the form you have is much more desirable than the one I have. I also realized that I have no picture of the flower when I started searching through my denbrobium photos. I must remember to get a picture when I get blooms.
