Has anyone ever grown this one? I have a recent fascination with it, but not sure that it is a windowsill culture.....

I have it--bought it late last summer from a club member.

It's a reasonably sized orchid--about 18" tall--and mine is in an 8" clay pot in a south facing window for the winter. Medium bark mix, and I give it plenty of water when it's actively growing (which seems to be pretty much all the time). Grows like a weed, tons of keikis, and it really does flower about 10 days after major storms in the summer. Nice light fragrance, too. Pity the flowers only last for a couple of days, but since it sends out repeated flushes of blossoms after storm fronts move through, I guess that makes up for it.

Hope this helps--in my experience it will do well on a windowsill if you have the room.

Catherine

My plant is outgrowing its space, so if you want to wait until the weather warms (March-April?) I can send you a chunk....

I have a small plant of this, given to me by Kevin_PR, member of orchidboard. My plant is growing well on a tree fern fiber mount, but probably a few years from blooming.

Glad to help! Nice to feed someone else's orchid addiction and not my own for a change (grin)....

I use an insulated styrofoam box for shipping, so we may be able to do this in early March, depending on the weather....

Anything else on your wish list? I'm going through my plants later this month and doing some repotting....
